BiODYNAMIC
Vignerons
Since moving to Champagne my taste has shifted as I have become more fond of biodynamics and organic champagne growers.
Champagne Marguet
I first tried these champagnes during Grand Champagne Helsinki and just loved them. I immediately contacted Benoit for a visit of his domaine. Located in the Grand Cru Village of Ambonnay Benoit is creating incredible champagnes with balance, depth, and intensity.
Champagne Larmandier-Bernier
A chardonnay focused grower in the Premier Cru Village of Vertus. Demeter certified champagnes with a zesty acidity, chalkiness, and depth.
Champagne Lacourte Godbillon
A Pinot Noir and Chardonnay focused Demeter certified champagne grower in the Premier Cru village of Ecueil. I first discovered these delicious champagnes during Le Printemps des Champagnes in 2022.
Champagne De Sousa
A Demeter certified champagne grower, Champagne De Sousa is located in the Grand Cru village of Avize in the Côte des Blancs.
EAT & DRINK
CHAMPAGNE BARS
Some of my favorite restaurants and bars to drink champagne (in the region and around the world).
Reims: Aux 3 P’tits Bouchons
Looking for a biodynamic and organic champagne bar in Reims? A great option is Aux 3 P’tit Bouchons located in the center of Reims near the Boulingrin. They have an extensive list of both biodynamic and organic champagne growers and wines.
Reims: The Glue Pot
The Glue Pot in Reims has a changing wine and champagne list including great champagnes to try by the glass. I love the steak tartare, the outdoor terrace in the summertime and the pub interior.
Amsterdam: Bar du Champagne
The Bar du Champagne quickly became my home away from home in Amsterdam. It has an amazing list of champagnes from both the growers and the houses. What I love is the changing menu and the fact that there is only wines from the Champagne region.
An incredible event in Reims celebrating Tyson Stelzer’s launch of the online Champagne.Guide
